This rolling paper is the standard at most gas stations and grocery stores. People unfamiliar with rolling papers still know Zig Zag. The ultra thin paper is the one paper you can find everywhere. I had no problems with the packaging and this paper rolls very well on the tool and the glue at the ends was fresh. The glue on the papers wasn’t curled up as happens when papers are exposed to high humidity. Zig Zag papers are made from wood pulp and flax and there is 32 sheets of paper in the package. We had almost no runs and we found this paper didn’t overpower the taste of the herbs until 85-90 percent gone.
The name Zig Zag comes from the patent on interwoven sheets of paper for automatic dispensing received in 1894. I would place this as a upper to mid level paper. There are other more premium papers on the market but the these are always available everywhere. Zig Zag is a product of Republic Tobacco.
Very well priced for the quality received.
Zig Zag Papers gets 4.0 stars
Raw is the standard that people who know how to roll go to. The papers rolls very consistently and the quality is top notch. Raw features criss-cross watermarks on the paper and this reduces the chance of a run. There is a lot of history out there on RAW and I would be foolish to think I could out write what's written but I can say this. I have been consistently happy with RAW’s quality. Josh Kesselman is the founder of RAW and although I haven’t met him, I can say he has accomplished a lot. This guy is worth a google search as he is into everything. Think Elon Musk but with rolling papers and accessories.
Years ago when just starting our Smoke Shop we started with a few boxes of Raw papers. We now devote two shelves to their products and customers have come to in counting on Raw to be there. We sell more raw papers than any other in fact we are big Fans of Raw paper, and I would be lying if I didn’t hope that EZJ was just was recognized as Raw someday.
We give Raw 4 Stars for Medical,
Top makes a very consistent paper its composed of flax and has been used for over 100 years. This paper is a product of France, the paper material rolled fine on either EZJ tool and looks just like cigarette paper. It is a short length paper at 70mm x 40mm and really makes a nice personal size EZJ. The tube rolled holds .70 grams of medicine.
Unfortunately that is really all the good I can say about this brand and its medical application. If you are trying to make it look like a real cig this may be on the list After smoking it I now know that traditional tobacco has paper all wrong.
I digress if If the purpose of a rolling paper is to hold the herbs and provide a ignition source it does that. The problem for our testers is this doesn't burn without making fine tasting herb taste like a cigarette butt in a few puffs, it was tough to smoke this thing half way down. More surprising is as this thing sat in the ashtray it overpower the room. There was a king size Elements EZJ that was 95% gone, it had less smell and tested better if that gives you a reference on how much smell and flavor this paper adds.
Not suitable for medical
2 star.
EZJ official review of Truly Naked Papers
This rolling paper is a little different as in it's a thin paper and brown but its not a hemp paper. It's a unbleached wood paper stock. The taste is a little like smoking a paper bag from the grocery store however not completely over powering but noticeable. I had no problems with the packaging and this paper rolls very well on the tool and the glue at the ends was fresh and not curled up as happens when papers are exposed to high humidity.
We did experience a few problems with small runs and the paper isn't water market to control that, this paper however didn’t overpowered the taste of the herbs until 75-80 percent. There is 32 sheets of paper in a the package. I would place this as a mid level paper. These guys have some work to do to finish the brand. Once again, like some other paper manufacturers they have taken the time to list their website and not make one. The website on the packing is a dead link. These are still worth considering for a test ride if anything just because it says Naked. but don’t expect them to outperform a Raw paper.
Truly Naked Papers gets 2.5 stars
Gizeh papers are in the racing terms a sleeper, there is very little knowledge of this paper in American market, but these are big around the globe. Nothing about the packaging indicates how awesome these papers are. I hadn’t actually rolled this rice paper before the tests started even though I was given a full box of these by Daughters & Ryan over a year ago. When I initially pulled a paper out it was nearly impossible to roll because it is such a slim cut. Now that I am practiced and can roll even the tightest paper these may be the new go to for everyday EZJ.
Our review panel was very impressed with the paper as it added almost no flavor to the medicine. We had no runs and can't express how impressed the testers were with this little paper. Again this is very hard to roll on the original tool. We had better luck with the Nano tool then the original. The trick to rolling the super slim papers is to pre-moisten the glue strip. The glue only overlaps the paper by 2mm so you have to be precise. You will be rewarded with one of the best papers for medical. It’s sized perfectly short so you can make a single serve EZJ. This is such a slim paper there is no overlap so I can’t stress how tight your EZJ rolling skills must be for success.
You will be rewarded in a smoke rich in history that doesn’t contribute to the taste of your herb. Five stars for the paper with a 1 star deduction for difficulty because they are so tight.
EZJ official review of Futurola Orange KS Slim.
The Futurola papers come in a nice kit with crutches or without, the paper is thin and translucent. The futurola paper rolls very well on the tool and doesn’t run when rolled & smoked... that is a great start for any paper.
The paper burns clean and leaves very little ash. This product does give a bit of a burned wood smell but not nearly as much of other brands being reviewed. Futurola papers seem very comparable to Zig Zig Ultra thin. overall I would give these 4 stars. I actually feel a little bad only giving 4 stars when everything about this company is so cool. However my real responsibility is fair reviews and for real medical user so it's important to note that 85%-90% of this will smoke awesome but it gets rough at the end as you reburn the wood tar out of the herb a second time.
This is a premium paper and it's priced competitively with other papers on the market with a pack of KS slim with 32 sheets retailing at 1.99 if you upgrade to the pack with crutches you are 2.99 and you are ready to roll.
Futurola Orange gets 4 stars!
There is 4 Sku in the line up the paper is thin and translucent. The four packs tested were KS & 1 1/4 Bleached and KS & 1 1/4 Hemp. I found the paper rolls very well on the tool and the glue at the ends was fresh and not curled up. We had a little more problems with runs than what we feel a top end paper should allow. The biggest reviewer issue was the bleached paper really overpowered the taste of the medicine, instead of inhaling flowers it was a mix of fumes...not a fun paper at all. The Hemp paper version was comparable to Raw quality and it's nice that you get 50 sheets in the pack.
This is a mid level paper really at best. They seem have put as much attention to its website www.cheechandchongpapers.com as it did in finding the best quality paper to source all this branding on. With so many other premium quality papers on the market the bleached are not worth it given the high price of herb. I would go with the Hemp as they are asgood as a Raw and you get 50 per pack.ing Papers 3 stars on the Hemp
2 stars on the Bleached paper
